Do you just listen to songs, and sing along without thinking about the words you are singing?
When we say things or sing things over and over in our head, it reiterates the words, like an affirmation, we say affirmations over and over until we believe them, its the same with songs.
Here is are some examples

"Happiness is just an illusion, filled with sadness and confusion"

"If tomorrow never comes"
Those words just CANNOT have a feelgood factor..
Compare them to these words...

"All you touch and all you see, Is all your life will ever be"
Simon & Garfunkel Bridge Over Troubled water
